At last, my version of Sauron as Lord of the Gifts! Now, isn't he pretty with all the golden-honey hair ;D? Don't you want a ring, guys? They are completely free of charge, no strings attached :3 (XDDD)
Also, apparently the beard is a strong part of his Ainu spirit because it persists between his shapes XDDDD But come on, he's the Maia of Aulë - how could he NOT have a beard, even dwarven women have beards XDDDD
I also have a good reason to have him wearing green, even though he presented himself to the smiths of Eregion as the Maia of Aulë. Namely I believe that if he wore metallic shades or anything that would only be associated with smithing, metal and forges, heat, that could lead the Elves to suspect things... because after all certain dark lords also really like that smithing stuff. And so, in my imagination, as Aulë's wife is Yavanna, lady of all the trees and plants and green things that the Elves so love and trust, Sauron presented himself as indeed the envoy of Aulë but one very fond of lady Yavanna as well. More trustworthy this way, isn't he? XD
Now I'll pretend it's tumblr and put some tags XDD
#That century when I proposed to 19 elven smiths at once and got rejected. # Have some rings, b***es! # Melkor'd tap that XD (if he knew how to XDDD)
Oh isn't it? XDDD I think it's actually his main problem XDDD Although maybe he hadn't made it here yet, since he only has 7 our of 19 elven rings XDDD /would die drawing all XDD
I love the fact that even though he's wearing "green" it's like the least-peaceful-"elf-like" nature green possible on the color wheel. Instead it's sort of radioactive, which I think is great XD It's also a pretty cool choice just artistically.. you've got such a way with these awesome interesting colors in a lot of your original works. So bold! I am not ever nearly as adventurous when I color things. As I'm sure you have noticed, I like to color things all desaturated and mostly one color XD Anyway, out of context: the neon makes me want to see Sauron dressed in cyber-punk and going to terrorize a rave somewhere. ( See? green... [link] Or maybe [link] And melkor: [link])
Anyway, Annatar has such a great look here, he's shining and benevolent but a little devious too, as his plans come to fruition and the elves ogle his shinies. I like that even the background reflects this, golden and hazy, with what looks like trails of smoke left over from the forging of the rings? It frames him almost like wings, a smithing angel. >3 Except...not! I wonder if Sauron's pretty done with his Annatar form by the time he switches back again. Like OMG black, I missed wearing black... I've been so blinded by gold and green..ugh..
LOOK AT HIS TRICKY EXPRESSION. Oh ho ho ho hooo <3
I love everything about this. I love how he's kept his Sauronyness while shifting to elf proportions and I love the color scheme and I love his rings and I want to put my face in his hair. XD He is like a fluffy, fluffy lion instead of a wolf. <3
o lol i read saurony-eyes and you meant sauronyness XDDD ignore my eye dispute then XDDD OR DON'T XDDDDD (just the comment below you was about his eyes so i got it imprinted in my head XDDDDD)
HOW DARE YOU, HE'S 100% TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST OKAY? He's changed his evil ways! wait no, what evil ways even?! XD /cough
Ha, I love these eyes too but he wouldn't risk these while coming to the elves XDDD The vertical pupils speak too much XDDD But if he'd be giving a private, seductive bedroom show to Melkor, then definitely he would be with such eyes *eyebrow waggle*;D
Oh hair, yess, it's alluring, maybe that's actually what happened, all the elven smiths in Eregion wanted to put their faces into it and he told them that they'll be allowerd after they make those rings but then he didn't let them, because he's loyal to Melkor, so they go offended XDDDD
XD I love this description for why the elven smiths were offended. They just wanted to put their faces in Annatar's hair, alright?! Was that too much to ask?
I bet Sauron hates them more for liking him as a blonde.

I'm tempted to draw more of him later <3
